Timberkits are moving wooden models you make yourself. No special knowledge or skills are needed - just a little patience in following the drawings and not minding a dab of glue here and there. These kits are very popular with the sort of people who like to use their hands as well as their heads, and make a unique present.
All kits come with a 'difficulty' rating ranging between 1-10, 1 being the easiest. This dragon kit is rated 6.
The dragon model has jaws that open at the neck, the tongue and head lunge forward and the wings and front leg also move up and down. It is operated by cranks and linkages within the body.
Dimensions of finished model: 22cm long, 18cm high, 10cm wide.
Each model comes with clear how-to-build instructions. After you have made the model you can paint and varnish it and then try a more difficult one!
All the wooden kits are made with New Zealand pine, which is sustainably sourced, gives a precise finish, a pleasant feel and a warm natural colour.
